Cluster Development of LATIA Export was represented in the discussion "Competitive Lithuanian Clothing and Textile Industry"
Jonas Daukantas, Director of LTM Garments, member of the LATIA Business Development Cluster, represented the cluster in the discussion "Competitive Lithuanian Clothing and Textile Industry: What Innovative Solutions are Needed Today and Now".
During the discussion, executives of the largest Lithuanian industrial companies said three key messages were highlighted.
- Technological innovation is needed for the clothing and textile industry since investing in it increases the productivity of industrial companies several times and then also the attractiveness of work and the sector. Technological innovation creates modern computerized workplaces that are attractive to young people.
- It is necessary to facilitate the recruitment of foreign workers. At present, a large number of vacancies in the country are vacant and so far there are no jobs left to fill them. State procedures should, therefore, be further simplified as they are still quite complex.
- Developing and marketing products in the context of global trends, such as sustainable fashion, which is now very popular in the world. This is a testament to the success of one of the largest textile companies in Lithuania, Utenos trikotažas, in their efforts to create sustainable fashion products.
The discussion was moderated by Živilė Kropaitė, TV and Radio presenter
